Ducky Beach Vacation

Every summer, we go to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and spend a week with all of the Bascoms in Duck.  Our numbers keep growing, and we are now up to 8 adults and 6 kids (with another niece/nephew on the way by next summer!).  One of our summer traditions is walking to the Sound to watch the sunset from the pier.  Here are Will and the boys enjoying a gorgeous sunset - often its a little hazy, but this night was perfect!

John LOVES the ocean.  He could splash in the waves all day.  Its even better when he straps on his lifejacket and we take him out to float in the waves, or ride the raft, or the boogie board...he doesn't care, as long as he's in the water!
Luke, on the other hand, also loves the beach but would prefer to do his splashing in the kiddie pool.
We were able to celebrate Will's 40th birthday with a big Luau Party.  It was also Ken's (his brother-in-law) 40th that week, so we went all out!
My ducky boys.

The grandkid lineup.
And finally, our last night together, we went back to the Sound at sunset and the tide was VERY low.  Will and the 'big kids' walked out way past the pier, and were only ankle deep!  The pictures of them out further were too dark, but this is only about half as far as they walked.
We love the beach!
