The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog!

In John's class, each child takes turns bringing home the 'journal' and a book and stuffed toy character that goes with it. The child is supposed to read the book, play with the stuffed animal, and then write and/or draw about it in the journal. At the beginning of the year, he was pretty much just making the drawings and telling me what to write. Now he's doing a lot of writing on his own. I can't believe how much progress he's made this year! The character for this round is the pigeon, from the book The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog! by Mo Willems.  The child actually got to choose one of the Mo Willems books from several in the classroom, and John picked the Hot Dog one.  Naturally, we had hot dogs for dinner that night (we thought the pigeon would want it that way).

My boy is growing up - I even registered him for Kindergarten the other day.  Seems like just yesterday he was a baby.  He's still my baby.  He'll always be my baby.
